Jessica Galaz Number of Years Mentoring: 3 Years! Best Part of Mentoring: I love the students I work with. I love seeing their creativity and genius manifest into reality. Hobbies Outside of Robotics: Witchcraft. Best Part of Mentoring: Watching very different teenagers become a family and work together to learn about design, and create a robot from scratch. So basically all of it. Rookie Class: 2017-2018 Grade level: 11th grade Why did you join Robotics: I joined robotics because I want to create inventions that can make it possible to live on Mars. Plus, Robotics is a great way for me to actually learn something useful from school. What have you enjoyed most about your FIRST Robotics experience: Robotics has been one of the few places were I have felt proud of myself, accepted, and able to build meaningful relationships. At robotics I am not simply a member of a club. I am apart of a family that cares for each other and works through everything no matter the struggle.
